The Banks, Bankers and Bank Notes of Winona County, MN (1858-1935)

'Hometown' Bank Notes showing the bank's name, and signed by local bank officers, were issued by most National Banks during the National Bank Note Era (1863-1935), and by most Obsolete Banks during the MN Obsolete Bank Note Era (1856-1866). Winona County had nine National Banks in operation between 1864 and 1935, and eight of those banks issued National Bank Notes. Winona County also had two Obsolete Banks that issued Obsolete Bank Notes between 1858 and 1866 (and one other Obsolete Bank that may have issued notes).
